About the Role: We are looking for a Mass and Heat Transfer Scientist to join our Gore Fabrics Applied Research Group. In this role, you will work on early-stage projects in our technology portfolio with applications in high performance apparel, focused on solving mass and heat transfer related problems using empirical, theoretical, and computational tools and approaches. You will be responsible for developing deep scientific knowledge and capabilities related to mass and heat transfer, and applying them to advanced material research and product performance. This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs. Pay and Benefits: - $115,000 - $172,000 per year
- Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities: - Perform analyses using empirical, theoretical, and computational tools on mass and heat transfer problems
- Develop theoretical and computational tools to solve mass and heat transfer problems and apply them to advanced material research and product performance
- Translate problem statements using scientific method to hypotheses and action plans
- Develop deep scientific knowledge and capabilities that connect material properties to product performance and/or end-user impact
- Effectively integrate and work collaboratively in project teams to apply this knowledge to the development of unique and valuable materials and technology
- Perform research with a trained eye for detail, looking for new and practical ways to develop, innovate and optimize materials and technology (detail-oriented and creativity)
- Effectively communicate technical work to a cross-functional audience, including making clear proposals and/or recommendations with interpretation and impact of results
Required Qualifications: - Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Physics, mechanical engineering, or related fields
- Strong background in experimental and theoretical mass and heat transport
- Excellent organizational, networking, presentation, and interaction skills
- Demonstrated ability to generate and test hypotheses, develop, and evaluate alternative solutions
- Demonstrated ability to convey technology and or material benefits to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge effectively within global and cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to make connections between material properties and mass and heat transport phenomena using a combination of empirical, computational, and theoretical tools
- Ability to plan, communicate, and drive research projects that align with stakeholder needs and deliver against them in a timely manner
- Ability to learn human physiology and thermal comfort and connect back to heat and mass transfer fundamentals
- Ability to travel 5% of the time
