If you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy tackling complex challenges, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:Lead the architecture and design of solutions for Capital One's Business Cards and Payments portfolio, focusing on new products and integrations.Guide integration efforts across a wide array of applications and technology platforms.Analyze current solutions and identify areas for improvement, proposing strategic roadmaps.Collaborate in triage and delivery of high-value projects for your domain.Effectively communicate architectural goals and reusable patterns to both internal and external stakeholders.Build strong relationships with executives and technical leaders to become a trusted advisor.Engage with the broader Capital One technology landscape to inform your solution architectures.Create highly available and resilient solutions deployed across a mix of public cloud and third-party infrastructures.Define integration strategies with internal systems and external partners through APIs and data exchanges.Exhibit technical leadership throughout the design and implementation phases, guiding software engineers with modern technology best practices.Independently define and structure work while maintaining cross-team alignment in a dynamic environment.Ideal Candidate Profile:Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills and the ability to rapidly adjust priorities.Has a proven track record of leading enterprise-scale technology architecture and engineering initiatives.Can adapt to shifting priorities while upholding existing commitments.Presents strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exhibits outstanding facilitation and influencing skills across various teams and divisions.Is self-motivated with a strong commitment to delivering quality results.Possesses excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.Displays meticulous attention to detail and a deep passion for Architecture and Technology.Shows curiosity and a desire to continually learn and grow in technology and architecture skills.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeAt least 8 years in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution DesignAt least 2 years developing solution architectures in a public cloud environment (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)Preferred Qualifications:10+ years of experience in software engineering5+ years as a Solutions Architect in large and complex organizations8+ years of experience with distributed systems, APIs, microservices, data processing, databases, and DevOps practices.Skilled in influencing technology initiatives by collaborating with executive teams.Experience mentoring engineers or architects.Ability to communicate technical details effectively across all organizational levels.Holds AWS or relevant cloud certifications.Location: Center 1 (19052), McLean, VirginiaCapital One values diversity and inclusivity in its workforce and is an equal opportunity employer.
