<span>Job Opening - Systems Monitoring Engineer - Bethesda, MD<br>&nbsp;<br>We are currently recruiting for a priority job position in Bethesda, MD for a Systems Monitoring Consultant. &nbsp;Candidates must have experience with Microsoft SCOM and/or BMC Patrol - the position will be focused on these skills, in addition to the following general knowledge:<br>&nbsp;<br>o Install and configure monitoring agents on Windows and UNIX servers.<br>o Create or modify monitoring dashboards and reports that provide insight into the health status of the infrastructure and Applications.<br>o Modify or Extend Management Packs to override baseline configuration <br>o Knowledge of ASP.NET web development and TSQL <br>o Write scripts to automate repetitive monitoring tasks. <br>o Maintain and create checklists and standard operating procedures to document operations and maintenance activities. <br>o Successful delivery of assigned tasks while adhering to major milestones and ensuring quality of implementations. <br>o Provide periodic on-call production support of the monitoring and alerting systems. <br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Desired Skills:<br>&bull; BS in computer-related degree (or equivalent) with 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible in Monitoring and Event Management related experiences. <br>&bull; 4 to 6 years experience using Microsoft SCOM or BMC Patrol/BMC BPPM technology for application and system monitoring <br>&bull; 1 to 2 years experience developing or maintaining asp.net web application<br>&bull; Good analytical and detail oriented skills, strong customer focus, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. <br>&bull; Hands on experience with server management and administration. <br>&bull; Ability to develop custom scripts to automate workflows using, PowerShell and other server based scripts <br>&bull; Configure synthetic monitoring scripts to measure availability and performance of applications.<br>&bull; Perform analyses and studies, prepare reports, and give presentations. <br>&bull; Experience with a relational database and its associated reporting tool is highly desirable &nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>This is a great long term job opportunity for someone who is specialized in either SCOM or Patrol. &nbsp;If you are open to a position in the Washington, DC area, please forward your resume immediately!<br></span> More...
