Powered by thousands of scientists and technicians and the latest technology platforms at more than 40 global sites, Catalent supplies billions of doses of life-enhancing and life-saving treatments for patients annually.The Associate III, Manufacturing is responsible for supporting the overall cGMP upstream manufacturing process, through the application of broad knowledge of theories and principles utilized to solve operational, as well as routine tasks in the production of bulk biologics from microbial and cell culture systems for Phase I/II & commercial GMP manufacturing. This is a full-time, salaried position and is 100% on-site. There are both 12-hour AM and PM shifts available, (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on rotation.) The hours are either 7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM.Catalent's FDA-licensed, state-of-the-art CGMP manufacturing facility for Gene Therapies is located on the Harmans/BWI campus in Baltimore, Maryland. The campus, featuring two manufacturing facilities, supports Phase 3 through commercial manufacturing of advanced therapeutic products, including Adeno-associated Virus (AAV), and other viral vector-based therapies and vaccines. Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture through excellence in quality and--compliance, and to the safety of every patient, consumer, and Catalent employee.--The Role - Collaborates with Manufacturing Scientist and Technology (MS&T) and development groups to assist with tech-transfer, scale-up, and translation activities.
- Interfaces with Quality Assurance department to execute corrective actions / preventative actions.
- Represents the department to clients and on cross-functional project teams.--
- Works with manufacturing managers and supervisors to develop and maintain training materials and curricula.
- Works on bioreactor operation and cell culture, including aseptic technique.
- Executes and monitors critical processes supporting mammalian, microbial, and fill-finish production.
- Performs the weighing, dispensing of raw materials for media and buffers.
- Performs the preparation of small and large volume media and buffer solutions, filtration and transfer of product.
- Other duties, as assigned.The Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, engineering) or related life science field, with a minimum of 4 years' related experience.
- High School diploma or associate's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., biology, biotechnology, engineering) or related life science field, with a minimum of 5 years' related experience.
- Prior experience in cGMP upstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing, highly preferred.
- Prior experience with large-scale centrifuges, washers, and autoclaves highly preferred.
- Experience working in an aseptic environment, highly preferred.
