We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper, and metals from the waste stream. Responsibilities: - Diagnose mechanical problems
- Perform repairs and maintenance on light trucks, compactors, and recycling equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Typical repairs include but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, brake systems, transmissions, electrical systems, engines, balers, and compactors
- Repair or replace parts, such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings
- Overhaul or replace blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps
- Read and interpret VCRs (vehicle condition reports) and repair orders, communicate with supervisor and equipment operators to clarify problems, and discuss preventive techniques with equipment users and vehicle drivers to minimize future repairs
- Complete paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for applied times (work order times versus time card times)
- Repair and install plumbing and electrical-related items to hydraulic systems
- Follows all safety policies and procedures
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
