Clean Harbors is looking for a Rail & Marine Transportation Analyst to join our safety conscious team! The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing all facets of rail transportation to ensure maximization of rail moves. This position will also focus on analyzing truck transportation lanes with the goal of moving to rail to lower transportation cost. The individual will maintain updates and rates in our LCR, HMR and In-transit rate tables to ensure low-cost transportation (rail) is viewed as primary transportation option by our system users. The Analyst will also work with our Central Rail and Oil Logistics transportation groups on data analysis to establish new rail options. Responsibilities - Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret rail and maritime transportation data to provide actionable insights.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to assess industry trends, competitor strategies, and potential business opportunities.
- Performance Metrics: Monitor and evaluate the performance of rail and marine logistics, identifying inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports, presentations, and dashboards summarizing key findings and recommendations.
- Cost and Efficiency Analysis: Perform financial analysis, including cost assessments and projections related to rail and marine transport.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies related to rail and marine transportation.
- Forecasting: Analyze current trends to project future demands and challenges in rail and maritime industries.
- Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders, including logistics teams, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to improve operational efficiency.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess risks related to transportation logistics and suggest mitigation strategies.
