Dynamic and growing software company in Boston is currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their team.
Position Overview:
Primary responsibilities include:
• Running requirements gathering sessions, facilitating feedback from multiple stakeholders, driving requirements definition with knowledge of our software in mind
• Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs
• Leading team discussions on determining the best option for design when multiple alternatives are available to meet customer needs, balancing effort, maintainability and budget considerations
• Documenting requirements through the use of system and process flow diagrams, user story elaboration, data flow mappings, report mock-ups, contractual document mark-ups, product configuration matrices and related functional requirements documentation.
• Documenting open questions associated with design, actively works to resolve through facilitating conversations with client and internal team members
• Partnering with the full team to resolve issues raised during Design and Build Phases
• Building the Test Plan for the team, assisting customers in creating a user and/or system test plan
• Supporting the client as they perform UAT, tracking issues and resolutions
Other responsibilities include:
• Configuring applications in the product suite to meet requirements, including reporting
• Testing customer configurations and customizations according to test plans created by yourself or other team members
• Training customers in the use of their final solution
• Developing / expanding business analysis methodology and artifacts
• Mentoring junior personnel in business analysis techniques
• Assisting with requirements-gathering in pre-sales situations, working closely with Sales team members
• Assisting with Support tickets which require further elaboration
Position requirements include:
• 5+ years? experience as a business analyst, with increasing responsibility/scope of projects
• 7+ years? experience working in software solutions delivery (e.g., development, QA, data analysis, applications specialist)
• 2+ years? experience working in a professional services capacity
• Deep experience with methodologies (e.g.,Waterfall, Agile) and tools (Excel, Visio)
• Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge to solving problems immediately
• Demonstrated client relationship building experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to be seen by both your internal and your client team as an accessible, thoughtful, intelligent team leader
• Pluses: Experience in Financial Services vertical, Experience in reporting software (JasperSoft, Business Objects, Crystal Reports)
• BS/BA desired
