- Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
- Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
- Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings
- Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
- Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of casesKey Responsibilities:
- Represent clients with confidence and professionalism in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and negotiations.
- Draft comprehensive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, and judgments for a variety of family law cases.
- Manage sensitive and high-stakes matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence cases.
- Develop customized legal strategies to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
- Divide marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date client files and provide exceptional communication to keep clients informed throughout the process.Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
- Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
