There's a seat at our table for you...Gordon Food Service is hiring an Brand Operations and Packaging Manager. This candidate will manage and provide strategic direction for internal systems as it relates to all brand activities. Ensures that brand packaging is consistent with packaging standards and ensures all standards are maintained. With a working knowledge of Packaging Engineering, is able to direct manufacturers into packaging specs that would be consistent with our brand messaging. Works closely with core data and categories to ensure that brand messaging is consistent between our electronic and packaging fronts.Responsibilities: - Ensures that brand packaging graphic standards are developed for all brands, and that brand packaging content is consistent with packaging standards
- Reviews and develops structural packaging standards to ensure consistency with brand messaging, and warehousing and transportation requirements
- Responsible for the relationship with outside companies that create pre-press artwork
- Manages work-assignments and processes for the packaging team
- Advises category directors when additional efforts are needed to maintain packaging timelines
- Works with Category teams to develop processes ensuring content in GFS systems is consistent with brand messaging
- Works collaboratively with outside agencies, IT, and Finance to identify ways to ensure the price relationship between Brands and National Brands is consistent and maintained
- Works collaboratively with outside agencies, IT, and Sales and Marketing to identify ways to move forward with Brand recommendations in our electronic ordering platformsIdeal candidate will have:
- Strong Brand Management skills, including the ability to identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors
- Knowledge of principles and methods for marketing, promoting, and selling products or services.
- Analytical skills to determine the most effective brand tactics using internal data, industry trend data, and other relevant data sources.
- Ability to inject creativity, fresh thinking, and new perspectives and to generate new and imaginative ideas.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal - to communicate effectively with a broad-based team made up of other managers and staff members during the advertising, promotion, and marketing process.Education:
- Bachelor Degree Packaging Engineering
- Five or more years previous experience in product brand positioning or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.Location:
