The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, with assets totaling approximately $1.3 billion, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the Foundation's mission to foster positive community impact through strategic philanthropy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a reputable organization dedicated to the long-term well-being of Southeast Michigan.Responsibilities - Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the Foundation's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Audit Coordination: Support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Grant Management: Oversee the financial aspects of grant administration, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and timely reporting.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Policy Development: Assist in the formulation and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support the Foundation's investment strategies and initiatives.Required Competencies
