Production SupervisorMain Duties --- Uphold and comply with industry-leading Animal Welfare practices and standards --- Oversee the daily activities of the team --- Check the completion and precision of daily task lists --- Supervise the environmental conditions of the facilities throughout the day and implement remedial actions for any issues identified --- Inspect equipment to ensure it is operating correctly and maintain necessary preventive maintenance --- Guarantee the implementation of effective safety protocols and procedures --- Support animal welfare initiatives and documentation for auditing purposes --- Be available for 24-hour emergency calls and any necessary remedial actions --- Ensure comprehensive training is provided for team members --- Observe team activity during the workday and make adjustments to maximize efficiency --- Offer guidance to team members as required --- Aid in implementing progressive discipline and corrective action as necessary --- Assist in conducting performance assessments --- Gather weekly data and compile final reports --- Oversee bird relocation --- Perform other tasks as needed Qualifications Successful candidates must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Education and/or Experience --- Ideally, an Associate degree in a related field (Agriculture, Business, etc.) --- Or 5+ years of experience in the poultry sector --- 3 to 5 years of experience in a poultry production environment preferred --- 1 to 3 years in a leadership role --- Basic Preventive Maintenance experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities --- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English required --- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred, but not mandatory --- Excellent organizational and time management skills --- Proven ability to lead people and achieve results through others --- Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain a skilled workforce --- Ability to provide effective coaching, mentoring, and discipline --- Ability to plan, execute, and measure results and outcomes --- Strong interpersonal and communication skills --- Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude --- Willingness and ability to learn various associated roles --- Knowledge of effective safety practices --- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical devices with good troubleshooting skills --- Ability to manage multiple priorities --- Familiarity with computers including windows-based programs and systems --- Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds Physical Demands Constant standing and walking; frequent gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds; occasional sitting, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds. Work Environment Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature fluctuates in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
