It's time to look at Taylor.Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions (a Taylor company) is looking for a senior Software Developer to join the team!Key Responsibilities: - Maintain, enhance, and debug software applications built with VB.NET.
- Lead development projects through the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) using a waterfall methodology.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions in the .NET framework to meet business needs.
- Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems.
- Ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in VB.NET development
- Solid understanding of the waterfall development methodology and experience working in a structured SDLC environment
- Experience with SOAP API and REST API
- Proficiency in debugging, testing, and maintaining complex software applications
- Experience with SQL Server and database management
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- You take pride in the code you write - it's clean, tested, organized, and elegant
- Self-starter - you're proactive and can start projects and tasks without constant direction
- Quick learner - you pick up new frameworks and technologies quickly
- Familiarity with other .NET languages (C#, F#) is a plus
- Experience with modernizing legacy systems or migrating applications to newer technologies
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
- Experience with Jira/Azure DevOps
- Experience with Postman or other API testing client
