Assembly Technical Lead Updated 11/1/22 Reports To: Assembly Department Management FLSA STATUS: Full-Time Non-Exempt Summary Under the supervision of Assembly Department Management, the Technical Lead is responsible for completing daily bike production, employee training, quality control audits, and ship to customer order completion as directed. The Technical Lead will support Bicycle Assemblers daily with training, and quality control support while providing daily progress reports to the department management. Position Details The primary responsibilities and areas of impact of this position include, but are not limited to: Primary Tasks - Answer questions and give technical advise to Bicycle Assemblers on the production floor.
- Complete bike quality checks and audits as assigned by the department management.
- Provide both individual and group instructional demos and share tech tips with Bicycle Assemblers related to daily bicycle production.
- Answer questions and determine an Assembler's process related to warranty write-ups to maximize department efficiency. Communicate running issues to department managers as soon as they are discovered.
- Complete assigned bicycle audits daily to grade individual and department production quality.
- Complete specialty builds, component builds, warranty repairs, and lead special projects as assigned.
- Assist department managers with RMS Warranty RTV data entry and completion as assigned.
- Lead new hire apprenticeship and advanced certification courses as directed by Assembly department management.
- Participate in both training and production of all ski and snowboard department assignments.
- Assist department managers in holding Bicycle Assemblers accountable to all standards, policies, procedures, daily department organization, and janitorial assignments.
Position Requirements Experience - One year of equivalent experience as a Bicycle Assembler, Bicycle Mechanic, or Mechanic/Technician in a comparable industry. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
Schedule - Full time availability for both first and second shift. Early mornings, nights, and weekends required seasonally.
Skills - High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
- High level of mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills. - Strong customer service focus, every bicycle assembled and checked has a potential customer!
- Solid understanding of bicycle repair and maintenance.
- Dedication to get the job done, and the ability and drive to work extra or extended hours when the department goals require so.
- Ability to demonstrate bicycle and ski/snowboard technical skils and techniques on-demand.
