This role is pivotal in guiding the company through legal compliance and best practices. You will be responsible for advising business managers on a wide range of transactional projects, including commercial contracts, data privacy, AI regulation, insurance and non-insurance entity governance, and other regulatory matters. - Draft, review and negotiate a range of documents including service and vendor contracts, terms of use, privacy policies, NDAs, and other corporate compliance materials.
- Develop corporate policies and training in collaboration with the Chief Legal Officer.
- Advise on insurance legal and regulatory developments, particularly impacting workers' compensation law and insurers, , and craft policies to safeguard Company interests.
- Engage with stakeholders to educate on workers' compensation systems and related issues, leveraging various communication platforms.
- Manage litigation and oversee external counsel in collaboration with the Chief Legal Officer.
- Drive business improvements with professional feedback and customer service excellence.
- Provide leadership and mentorship on legal issues affecting workers' compensation and the broader insurance legal landscape.
What We'll Love About You Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in Minnesota. Six or more years of legal advisory experience in complex commercial contracts and transactions, preferably within insurance or similar regulated industries. Knowledge of data security, privacy laws, and AI regulations. Familiarity with workers' compensation law, desirable. Leadership and strategic focus, thriving in a collaborative, team-based environment. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple projects A self-starter with a passion for continuous learning and improvement. Proficient in leading projects and delegating tasks for successful outcomes. Solid computer and negotiation skills, including competency with Microsoft tools (Office products and Teams), with a knack for creative problem-solving. Willingness to travel and a valid driver's license. Physical Requirements Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting, either on business premises or remote location, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Work is performed indoors with little to no exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions.
