About the Job


The research assistant will assist with the event meetings, focus groups, and in-depth interviews, and will be responsible for the qualitative data acquisition and analysis, perform the assessments during the intervention study, and manage the data acquisition of the assessments and Fitbit smartwatch. The candidate will be blinded to the group allocation of the intervention study. The candidate will assist with data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, attend weekly lab meetings, and update the team on issues related to data collection and analysis of the proposed study. This is not a PhD position.
Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Registered at the University of Minnesota as a Graduate Student
  • Be detailed-oriented
  • Have integrity
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiarity with working with adults with disabilities and medical/rehabilitation jargon (e.g., student in physical therapy)
  • Familiarity with Excel
  • Willingness to learn RedCap, Qualtrics, and other related programs for this study
    Preferred qualifications:
    • Fluent bilingual (English / Spanish)
    • Familiarity with statistical analysis
      About the Department


      The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Since then, we have been leaders in transforming the specialty through education, research, and patient care. We are the academic sponsor of seven family medicine residencies-five in the Twin Cities, two in Greater Minnesota. We are involved in medical student education activities across the Medical School's two campuses: Twin Cities and Duluth. We sponsor five fellowship programs-sports medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, clinical informatics, behavioral medicine, and human sexuality- and offer continuing medical education opportunities. It expanded to a baccalaureate program in 1946, a Master of Science program in 1997 and a professional doctoral degree program in 2002. All students entering the program and completing all requirements graduate with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. The Division of Physical Therapy creates and integrates innovative research discoveries, education, and practice to develop scholarly, collaborative physical therapists and rehabilitation scientists who advance health care and disease prevention for diverse communities in Minnesota and beyond.       Pay and Benefits


      Pay Range: $22.17 - $28.70; depending on education/qualifications/experiencePlease visit the Office of Student Health Benefits website for more information regarding benefit eligibility.
