  Job Details
  • Autonomously performs complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for patients of all ages under the supervision of qualified physicians for diagnosis treatment and prevention of disease.
  • Diagnostic sonographers take the initiative to confirm the imaging orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity.
  • Responsible for contacting the ordering physician if an inadequate reason for test is supplied.
  • Sonographers utilize advanced knowledge to perform diagnostic procedures (inpatient and outpatient settings including portable and O.R. examinations) by producing assessing and evaluating ultrasound images and related data.
  • Sonographers are required to exercise independent judgment in the interpretation and analysis of exams and provide a preliminary diagnosis of the technical findings to the physician.
    Job Requirements
    • Must be ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in the areas of abdomen obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
    • Must have an Associate's degree in a related field and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
    • Incumbents hired into the role prior to February 15 2018 are required to meet the previous requirements of graduating from an accredited sonography program.
