About this position:
Baker Publishing Group is accepting applications for a full-time in-house editorial assistant at Bethany House Publishers and Chosen Books, recognized for publishing quality Christian fiction and nonfiction. The person in this position will support the Bloomington editorial department. Characteristic activities include coordinating with freelance proofreaders, coordinating reprint corrections, reviewing epub files, ordering comp copies, and other editorial and administrative support.


Qualifications:

• A four-year degree required; major in English, writing, or related field preferred
  
• Previous office/clerical experience desired; some editorial experience is helpful
  
• Familiarity/proficiency with various software applications preferred: Outlook, Excel, Word, FileMaker Pro
  
• A collegial approach to working with colleagues in editorial, design, production, and marketing, as well as with authors and other contacts
  
  
  
  
  • Proven organizational and time-management abilities, follow-through, and project management skills
    
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    
  • Keen attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    
    Compensation and Benefits:
    Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a full-time position, benefits provided include health, dental, group life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, 401(k) after three months, and others.
