As part of our Prototype Shop team, you'll join a diverse group of driven professionals who develop and fabricate systems that support modern military capabilities, protect national security, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure.BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a manager for our prototype fabrication facility in Fridley, Minnesota, where we work on advanced weapon systems for the US military and international customers. As a Prototype Fabrication and Assembly Lead, you will directly and indirectly manage technicians, fabricators and engineers.Within our prototype network, we secure our future through world-class integration, superior prototyping processes and innovative life-cycle support. We achieve success by satisfying our clients and programs by making concepts tangible, motivating our employees, empowering strong teams, and positioning for transitions to production.The Prototype Fabrication and Assembly Lead: - Oversees and manages the Prototype fabrication and assembly Operations project(s) primarily for our Weapon Systems product lines.
- Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project teams, and engineering management.
- Prepares project execution plans and identifies technical and business resources needed to support prototyping efforts.
- Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Provides technical and analytical guidance to project teams and the manager.
- Guides the onsite planning and execution capabilities for work and required fabrication and assembly equipment to accommodate business growth.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Operations Management, or Business Management and 8 years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experienced in working in a prototyping environment
- Project / Program Management experience
- Risk and Issue management experience
- Effective communicatorPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
