Overview: seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Engineer to join our client's team. This role involves the development, implementation, and enforcement of comprehensive safety programs to ensure a secure working environment. The ideal candidate will be adept in interpreting safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety-first among employees. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to regulatory compliance.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local safety regulations to ensure full compliance.
- Provide expert advice and audits to line management for effective implementation of EHS initiatives.
- Conduct training sessions including employee orientation and emergency response protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Advise on equipment design and ergonomics to enhance workplace safety.
- Manage and evaluate the Safety Management System, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Maintain documentation related to permits, safety equipment, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety policies when working on-site.
- Prepare and present reports on the status of health and safety programs to management.
- Lead investigations into accidents and injuries, compiling reports for regulatory bodies.
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Lead emergency response initiatives, aligning with company policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and develop internal safety advocates.
- Perform other related duties as required. Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Ability to effectively train and mentor staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
