The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. --The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring an Intern in Pharmaceutical Development. The Intern in this department is responsible for product innovation, development, process refinement and improvement. This means everything to developing prototype formulation batches to in-process testing and the packaging of prototype stability supplies. What we do is vital to achieve Catalent's future growth strategy and maintain relevance within the pharmaceutical/biotech market.This is a full-time hourly position: Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm on-site in Kansas City, MO. PLEASE NOTE: candidates must be available to work 40-hours/week from May 26th - August 11th, 2025. A sign-on bonus of $1,000 is also offered for this position.Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture through excellence in quality and compliance, and to the safety of every patient, consumer, and Catalent employee.--The Role:-- - Performing physical characterization of excipients and APIs. Conducting in-process testing as necessary
- Assisting with the manufacture of prototype formulation batches
- Packaging prototype stability supplies as necessary
- Maintaining documentation in accordance with good documentation practices and Pharmaceutical cGMP compliance
- Learning the functional use of various Pharmaceutical Lab equipment and instruments
- Ensuring 5S standards are met and maintained; Ensuring that all Catalent safety procedures are followed in adherence with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Establishing clear communication to supervisor about project updates, etc.
- Other duties as assignedThe Candidate:
- Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Mathematics, Engineering or health sciences related field of study
- Must be eligible to legally work in the United States
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for a 10-12-week period over the summer (Late May to Early August 2025)
- Previous academic lab/project experience preferred
- Must be well-organized and ability to multitask and manage your time efficiently
- Physical requirements: Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds; ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Regular use of telephone and email. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and fax machines. Good reasoning ability is important.
