Responsibilities Desert View Hospital is a 25-bed, acute care hospital set in a rural community. Desert View provides safe and competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. We provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all patient care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. - -Job Description: Responsible for the delivery of respiratory therapy modalities and respiratory assessments to patients of all agesin all patient care areas, including critical care, NICU or Labor & Delivery. Performs responsibilitiesindependently and without supervision except as necessary during orientation or training. Qualifications Education: Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapist program.Experience: One (1) year in acute/critical care respiratory therapyTechnical Skills: Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriateto the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department, and provide thecare/service as described in the department policies and procedures.License/Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board of RespiratoryCare.Current Nevada Practitioner of Respiratory Care License, Nevada Blood GasTechnologist (minimum),* Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American HeartAssociation, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified by the AmericanHeart Association; The following to be obtained within the first 90 days of hire dateif applicable to specific facility Pediatric Advanced life Support (PALS) certified by theAmerican Heart Association and/or Neonatal Resuscitative Provider (NRP) certifiedby the American Academy of Pediatrics.Other: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to providecare/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assignedunit/department.*NOTE: For new blood gas license personnel applicants - you must apply within thefirst 14 days of hire. **Additional certifications may be required for certainfacilities." -EEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
