About the role As our IT Specialist, you'll be the day-to-day technology expert for our agency (and allllllll of the mac devices we use), navigating the complexities of a modern, remote workforce. Sure, we jest about the 'turn it off and on again' approach, but we're counting on you to solve the more intricate tech problems that go beyond the basics. When something-anything-tech-related doesn't work (which, trust us, happens a lot), you'll be our go-to fixer. On top of troubleshooting, you'll help us modernize our workflows, improve efficiency, and bolster our security, ensuring that our teams can stay focused on their work, not on error screens. And make sure you're ready for the special projects because we're always cooking something that could use some technology assistance. Things you'll be doing - Provide excellent customer service while handling service requests
- Work with software and hardware vendors to resolve technology issues
- Document IT assets and processes
- Mentor teammates on the appropriate use of technology systems and tools
- Assist in deploying proof-of-concept implementations for new solutions
- Perform regular maintenance on IT assets to provide a reliable and secure computing experience for your teammates
- Ward off the tech demons who trouble your teammates during the all-hands meeting Must haves
- Reno-based - a lot of our staff still resides in Reno (even though working remotely) and our office is a hub for all that. On-site work will be required and expected
- macOS management - MDM concepts, deployment, troubleshooting, basic scripting
- Small office & remote connectivity - WiFi, DHCP, NAT, firewalls, site-to-site & client VPNs
- Software and license management - integrations, and oversight on all licenses and accounts for employees
- IT asset management - tagging, inventory control, device assignment reporting
- Backup management and recovery - keep KPS3's data resilient
- Printer troubleshooting - yeah... we know, but someone (you) has to be the hero! Formal education or certifications are a plus
- Apple Certified IT Professional
- Apple Certified Support Professional
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Bachelors or Associates degree in Computer Science, Network/Server Administration, or similar Random technology list of things we use

- Automation - you can write Python, understand web API usage, and development workflows
