Join our team and see how you can make a bigger difference.Within Engineering, the successful candidate will perform Software Configuration Management (SCM) tasks including the fundamentals of Configuration Management: identification, change management, status accounting, audit and verification. Under direct supervision and given specific direction, the successful candidate will execute SCM activities per the Configuration Data Management Plan and BAE Systems policies and procedures. The SCM will learn to manage software repositories using designated SCM tools for software version and baseline control, using BAE Systems procedures. They will learn to perform and document required software builds as directed to ensure reproducible software configuration baselines and deliveries. They will gain experience in executing release and change control functions using SCM tools in order to ensure software product integrity.The SCM will assist in generating and maintaining all necessary program software development, release and change records, including status accounting records. They perform SCM Configuration Control Board activities including establishing the agenda, recording approvals/non-approvals, and publishing and maintaining action items lists. The SCM will develop proficiency in the use of the assigned SCM tools, and knowledge of company software configuration management processes and standards. Essential Functions are:1. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth above.2. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;3. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers;4. Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents;5. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations;6.
