With ambitions like this, imagine what you could do?For the IS (Information Systems) Department, we are looking for a Data Engineer.The IS Department provides and manages on a global scale a variety of IT services covering all IT layers: from network, server & cloud infrastructure, end user devices & Service Desk to best-in-class applications and data & digital solutions.Primary Tasks and ResponsibilitiesThe consultant will work on 3 APIs related to the HermesNXT project.The HermesNXT project ensures improved availability, visibility, and readability of key metrics and performance indicators across Finance, EHS, ESG, and P&O domains (P&O is our HR organization). It provides cross-functional insights that support decision-making processes by integrating data from various domains. All users, regardless of their domain, gain more accessible insights, with the level of detail tailored to their specific needs. - Ingest data from multiple REST APIs using various standards such as OData using Python.
- Build and maintain libraries to scale API development.
- Create project templates.
- Drive adoption of software development engineering best practices.
- Contribute to design documents and conventions.
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.
- Contribute to the Umicore CI/CD setup in Azure DevOps (optional).Technical Profile Requirements
- You are passionate about automation and writing high-quality code.
- You have excellent problem-solving skills.
- You think for yourself and don't take a given design or solution for granted.
- You have a solid understanding of software engineering best practices, such as testing and documentation.
- You have experience with Git.
- You have experience with Python.
- You have experience with API design and development.
- You have experience with owning an implemented solution from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, maintenance, and execution.
- You are familiar with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies.
- Experience with Databricks.
