Primary office locations include Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Northern New Jersey, and Philadelphia. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What the day will look likeThe role is client facing and the colleague will interact with both internal Aon Reinsurance client teams as well as clients directly. The role will be focused on Rating Advisory support, where the colleague will be responsible for advising reinsurance clients through rating agency criteria and capital management strategies. Primary responsibilities include supporting client relationships, applying credit rating agency criteria, evaluating the impact of reinsurance and other capital solutions on a client's financial statements and credit rating, and developing thought leadership research on behalf of clients. Colleague will be expected to work alongside other Capital Advisory functions, at times, such as Corporate Finance (M&A Advisory) and ReSolutions (Structured Reinsurance team), with the goal of growing client relationships.How this opportunity is differentThe individual will work in a team environment on a variety of tasks, including:Rating Agency Capital Modeling and Analysis - provide analytics and rating advisory support using rating agency capital models and company's financial statements and forecastsSynthesize Information and Make Recommendations - research and analyze data and client financials through the lens of rating agency criteria; proactively identifying alternative ideas and solutions to meet client goalsSupport Rating Agency and Board-level objectives -assist in creating presentations and recommendations by applying knowledge of rating agency methodologiesSupport Client Relationships - build internal relationships within Aon and become a direct point of contact for Aon clientsIndustry Research - track (re)insurance industry trends and translate that information into insights that aid client recommendationsSpecial Projects - participate in special projects and Thought Leadership content to further Aon's market presenceWork Across Capital Advisory Teams - provide support and collaborate with other capital advisory functions, including structured reinsurance solutions, corporate finance/investment banking, and capital markets transactionsSkills and experience that will lead to success2+ years of insurance industry experienceAbility to analyze insurance company financial statementsProficient user of Microsoft Excel and Power PointExperience with industry databases (S&P Global Market Intelligence/SNL and/or BestLink) are a plusKnowledge of insurance STAT and GAAP accounting concepts is a plusStrong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCPA designation or working toward CFA designation or working toward is a plusExperience with data analysis and research conceptsExperience with rating agency and regulatory capital models is a plusFocused, with strong organizational abilities and attention to detailGood interpersonal skills, client management and communication capabilitiesExcellent presentation skills with ability to synthesize content from multiple sourcesAbility to perform under time pressuresSelf-directed with experience managing multiple, concurrent projectsAbility to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environmentEducation:Bachelor's Degree ideally in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related majorHow we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant's geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
