In Flight Inc., is a nonprofit that provides support services within a home environment and the community for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). We are looking for Direct Support Professionals to join our agency. Please look at our website to get to know us. www.inflightinc.org In Flight's Community Hab department is looking for creative and self-motivated staff to work 1:1 with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities both at home and within the community. You must be able to relate positively to people with developmental disabilities and want to support their goals for a fulfilling life. This is a flexible, fun, and independent position! GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:This position entails providing one-to-one support to a person with a developmental disability in their home and community. You must have patience, a personable demeanor, excellent communication skills, and be able to effectively work with minimal direct supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for working with people to achieve valued outcomes set forth in their at home residential habilitation plan as well as their individualized service plans. What you will be doing: --- Teaching new tasks --- Assisting in the creation and achievement of life goals --- Planning activities within the home and/or community --- Working independently while collaborating with other team members --- Accurately and promptly documenting services, using provided tablet. Per Diem (5 to 29 hours a week), evenings, and weekends. Cases in Dutchess County (Red Hook, Pine Plains, Veribank, Staatsburg), $18.50 an hour PAY INCENTIVES Available- Education and Experience **QUARTERLY BONUS- Must work 20 hours per week per quarter to be eligible** EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma/GED is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred. - No experience required; one year of related experience is preferred. Working as caregiver or with adults with developmental disabilities. Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the individuals Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor Be able to attend mandatory trainings as neededREQUIREMENTS: |
