Job OverviewThe Sanitation worker cleans & sanitizes all equipment in the plant in compliance with customer specifications and with company policy related to GMP's and Safety.Job Responsibilities--- Clean and sanitize equipment using chemicals and power washers.--- Read chemical labels to ensure safe applications.--- Manually scrub certain areas of machines using brushes or scrub pads.--- Light cleaning of coolers; picking up garbage from floor and sweeping with dust mop.--- Clean floors using the floor scrubber.--- Disassembling equipment.--- Pressure wash rugs.--- Clean overhead levels using man lift.--- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.--- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.--- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.The pay for this position is $22.90- $23.45. All offers will be based on a candidate's skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations.Required Education and Experience--- High School diploma or GED.--- General understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.--- Ability to make decisions based on standard practices.--- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.--- Basic understanding of sanitation processes and related equipment.--- Ability to run sanitation equipment.--- Ability to read, comprehend and communicate safety labels on chemical containers.--- Ability to work overtime as needed with little or no notice.Preferred Education and Experience--- 1 year of sanitation experience or more.--- SAP experience.--- Basic computer skills.Working Conditions--- Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.--- Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.--- Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.--- Product weight: up to 100 lbsEEOC & DisclaimerGreat Lakes Cheese is an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer.
