The Colwell Law Group in Albany, NY is looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records ensuring the smooth financial operations of our firm. Responsibilities: --- Manage and accurately post daily bank feed transactions in QuickBooks Online. --- Deposit checks via mobile deposit or take cash deposits to the bank daily. --- Record deposits in QuickBooks Online. --- Conduct research and rectify any accounting discrepancies promptly to maintain financial accuracy. --- Enter Payroll, Revenue, and Expense Allocation Journal Entries. --- Payroll Liability Reconciliation Reports. --- Ensure accurate allocation of all expenses to respective locations and GL accounts. --- Monthly Bank Reconciliations. Qualifications: --- Three (3) years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, preferably within a law firm, accounting firm, or similar environment. --- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma with practical experience; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. --- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. --- Experience with QuickBooks Online. --- Basic understanding of accrual accounting principles. --- Strong skills in accuracy, diligence, data analysis, and numerical proficiency. --- Perform quality control on their own work. --- Demonstrated ability to work independently. --- Capability to maintain strict confidentiality when managing financial information. --- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. --- Effective and professional communication abilities. --- Excellent record-keeping and documentation-keeping skills. --- Experience with multi-location organizations. --- Good attitude with the ability to be self-motivated and work as part of a team. --- Record of achieving results in a deadline-driven environment.
