Job Details - Job overview for a Registered Nurse in PACU at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center
- Providing care to patients after surgical procedures requiring anesthesia
- Varied and challenging environment with recovery times ranging from 30 to 90 minutes
- Responsible for discharging Phase II patients and handling overnight patients from the tower and ICU
- Orientation includes comprehensive, individualized training tailored to skill level
- Staffing based on need of the Operating Room, operational 24/7
Job Requirements - Minimum 2 years of experience
- Traveler experience required
- ICU experience mandatory
- ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications needed
Schedule Information - 36 hours per week
- Shifts are 12-hour nights
- RTO: 7 days maximum
- Call requirement once every four weeks
- Variable weekend requirement
- May include Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team duties
Unit Specific Information - Special procedures: Care of patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Patient diagnoses include Vascular, Endovascular, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Bariatric, Plastics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pediatric procedures
- Navy scrubs are required for this position
- Scheduling managed by a Schedule Committee
- Orientation for new hires is comprehensive and tailored to experience
