This is why we come to work every day. Join us and we can make a difference together. About this role Carrier is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Training Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality training programs on HVAC Fundamentals and Carrier Commercial products. You will leverage your expertise in HVAC technology and your passion for education to ensure that participants gain a comprehensive understanding of key concepts and best practices. In addition to training on existing applications, this role will be critical in supporting our internal service technician training initiative. Key Responsibilities - Deliver in-person and remote instructor-led training on HVAC fundamentals, Carrier Commercial product training: including product familiarization, operation and maintenance and controls.
- Create engaging and interactive learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods, such as presentations, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, and simulations.
- Create class handouts and documentation as needed
- Collaborate with instructional designers to develop and continuously improve training materials and curriculum content.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in Commercial HVAC technology to ensure training content is up-to-date and relevant.
- Provide guidance and support to participants during training sessions, answering questions, and offering additional assistance as needed.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain training equipment and materials, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly organized.
- Assist with the development of new training programs and initiatives based on emerging needs and feedback from stakeholders.
- Keep accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, and evaluation results. Summarize training evaluations for management reporting.
- Maintain a professional appearance and exhibit professional written and verbal skills
- Ensures adherence to all safety standards and practices, including oversight, care, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and materials.
Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of Commercial HVAC field service experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience teaching in a technical environment
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree preferred
- 10+ years' experience Commercial HVAC Field Service
- 5+ years' experience teaching in a technical environment
- High degree of knowledge and expertise in all phases of commercial HVAC including installation, operation and service
- Strong understanding of HVAC tools, equipment, and safety
- Ability to facilitate formal training programs across multiple technical and functional disciplines for both small and large groups.
- Experience in remote support online presentation and training tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- Experience creating instructional content and digitizing materials
- A strong technical aptitude and knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and application practices
- Adept in using technology and facilitation techniques to engage learners.
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
