Assembler - Rocky Mount North Carolina

Assembles fabricated parts at floor stations. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. May require 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Special Considerations:
Lifting is generally at or below 30Lbs. without significant repetitions. Moderate exposure to machinery, chemical, biological, and physical risks is anticipated. Operation of a Powered industrial truck is considered at least Industrial and may be considered Heavy as determined by other exposures.
*US Citizen High School Diploma
2 to 3 years hands on experience in manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred)
In lieu of 2-3 years of mfg experience, completion (or in progress) of manufacturing, machining or related vocational programs and/or mechanical skills experience will be considered.
* Career Readiness Certificate perferred
Fluent with computer use (Windows)
Demonstrated basic math skills, calculation of decimals, recording readings, etc.
Ability to use precision measuring devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, dial calipers and depth micrometers. Ability to work with hand tools of different types.
Able to follow detailed assembly and test instructions consistently and accurately in a fast paced aerospace production environment.
Must be able to work in a team environment and solve issues at the lowest level.
Able to work and communicate well with others at all levels.
*MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH: manual torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers
Training will be OJT (on the job) during first shift hours, 7:00AM-3:30PM Monday- Friday
* Training will occur on 1st shift up to the first 6 weeks.
