As an experienced leader, you will contribute hands-on with coding and modeling, as well as mentor, build, and guide your team to success. Your strong practical experience will be critical as we aim to push the boundaries of technology and remain at the forefront of the rapidly evolving technological advancements in machine learning.In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on victims' lives while working with a talented interdisciplinary team of passionate individuals - with backgrounds in industry and academic research in physics, ML, neuroscience, and more. As a Machine Learning Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of our product and the technologies we work with. The success of your team's output directly connects to the success of our business, providing ample opportunity for growth and advancement of you and your team.What you'll do: - Develop and implement career progression frameworks to guide the growth of your direct reports.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and resources to support the technical and career development of team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define the strategic direction of the product for the assigned squad.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to align on product priorities and roadmap objectives.
- Lead discussions to formulate data-driven strategies that support the team's goals and objectives.
- Drive advanced in-context learning initiatives leveraging LLMs to enhance team capabilities.
- Fine-tune LLM models to optimize performance and accuracy in specific contexts or domains.
- Implement RAG status indicators and synthetic evaluation techniques to assess model effectiveness and refine strategies accordingly.What we look for:
- 2 years of experience in a people management role with direct reports, excluding tech lead positions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or other fields of advanced quantitative study; advanced degree preferred.
- Strong proficiency with the latest Large Language Model (LLM) technologies.
- High proficiency in a procedural programming language (e.g. Python).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills and experience, with a passion for guiding and developing other team members.
