  Job Details
  • Registered Nurse position at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center
  • Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history and occasional Chemotherapy administration
  • Target Ratios: 1:6-7
  • Shift: NIGHTS
  • Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
  • Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
    Job Requirements
    • Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year
    • Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers
    • Skills: Administer chemo, experience in an inpatient setting, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
    • Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start
    • BLS certification required
      Schedule Information
      • RTO: 7 days MAX. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48
      • Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
      • Attendance to monthly staff meetings
        Unit Specific Information
        • Unit Systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
        • Unit Orientation: 24 hrs (2 shifts)
