Job Title: Occupational Therapist for RehabilitationAbout the RoleBecome part of a dynamic team at UNC Health Care, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.This occupational therapist position is for the Rex Skilled Nursing Facility in Raleigh, NC, where you will work with patients who require rehabilitative services due to developmental deficiencies, aging, medical concerns, or psychological and social disabilities.Key Responsibilities Diagnostic Testing: Administer and interpret diagnostic tests to assess functional deficits and related impairments in occupational therapy patients. Education: Teach and supervise graduate occupational therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents, and develop innovative programs to enhance patient care. Evaluation of Care: Analyze diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to establish patient goals and modify treatment programs, identifying expected patient outcomes and communicating relevant information for continuity of care. Implementation: Select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services, providing habilitation/rehabilitation and maintenance of patients with related impairments, and organizing and prioritizing care according to patient/family needs. Outreach/Community Involvement: Serve as a resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty areas, presenting at local or state level, participating in community health screening and events, and contributing to the development of new clinical programs to meet emerging needs. Participation: Contribute to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings and in-services, and participate in quality improvement initiatives with the clinical specialist and other healthcare professionals. Quality: Maintain valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress, and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts in conjunction with the department director.RequirementsWe are looking for an occupational therapist with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and research in occupational therapy.Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program and licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina are required.
