Job Summary:
The objective of the Material Handler is to safely and effectively, move materials and goods, via industrial truck (sit-down, stand-up, and clamp), to and from warehouse storage to appropriate manufacturing areas. - Material Handlers are also responsible for loading and unloading of tractor trailers. At times, the Material Handler will work closely with Bindery, Press and Maintenance support staff. - - -

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Move paper, printing materials and other products to and from the Warehouse to the Press Line or the Bindery Department
  
• Load and unload trucks
  
• -Inspect and maintain equipment daily
  
• Use a handheld bar code scanner
  
• Use of Shrink Wrap Machine
  
• Use of a Slitter Machine
  
• Track inventory and complete warehouse tally sheets indicating material weight, size and number of skids
  
• Other duties as assigned

  Basic Qualifications:
  
  
  
  • High School Diploma or GED
    
  • 1-3 years of job related work experience.
    
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations.
    
  • Must work well with others.
    
  • Communicate effectively
    
  • Must be flexible and open to change when needed
    
  • Must have the ability to follow instructions
    
  • Must be proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders.
    
  • The ability to work up to 10-to-12-hour shifts
    
    Physical Requirements
    
    
    
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, 20lbs constantly. -
      
    • Constantly be able to work in the work activities.
      
    • Remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods -
      
    • Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
      
    • Operating machine and/or power tools
      
    • Work in noisy environments
      
    • Occasionally be able to do the listed activities
      
      
      
      • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps.
        
      • The ability to navigate small/tight spaces.
        
      • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 lbs.
