Summary:
The CNC Set-up/Master -Programmer will have a variety of daily responsibilities including setting up jobs on the CNC machines, repairing problems that the operators cannot fix, operating the CNC machines, gaging parts -and keeping the area clean. - When operating a machine, the CNC Setup Master will be responsible for routine maintenance on the machines and must also be able to follow specific instructions and work in a safety-oriented manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Do basic programming to complete writing of NEW programs
- Setup jobs on CNC machines
- Repair machines and assisting operators with repairs
- Complete -all paperwork as necessary
- Operate and maintain equipment
- Check parts off machine to ensure they comply with print specifications
- Clean work area, including mopping
- Perform various maintenance activities
- Work with office and supporting departments
Qualification Requirements: - Must have 6+ years of setup experience on CNC machines and 3 years of programming experience.
- Must be able to long hand program a part from only a blueprint
- Must understand the use of speeds and feeds with different tools
- Must be able to read non digital micrometers and blue prints
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Must be detail oriented in order to ensure parts meet print specifications
- Must be cooperative, a team player and have good communication skills
- Must be able to do basic mathematics: add, subtract, multiply, divide. Trigonometry is a plus.Physical Demands:
