Position:  Senior Windows/VMware Systems Administrator job in Cleveland, Ohio Location: Cleveland, OH Duration: Direct Hire   MODIS, a leader in the IT Staffing and Services industry, is working with a well-established client to fill a Senior Windows/VMware Systems Administrator job in Cleveland, Ohio.  The Senior Windows/VMware Systems Administrator job in Cleveland, Ohio will contribute to this major organization by supporting and administrating the design, planning and implementation of all Windows/VMWare related activities of the organization.     Key Responsibilities:   <ul>

<li>Provide direction for the IT Department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, organizing and administering ongoing support.</li><li>Provide direction for the architectural design of the Windows/VMWare System infrastructure while benchmarking, analyzing, and reporting, to make recommendations for improvements.</li><li>Develop/support automation scripting efforts to speed deployments of infrastructure services utilizing Powershell, VBscript, or C#.</li><li>Coordinate with network engineering, business application developers, and database administration functions to implement client desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices.</li><li>Administer/handle all Windows/VMWare server, storage, operating systems and related hardware/software in support of all enterprise business applications.</li><li>Perform server storage and operating system security audits as required.</li><li>Perform/test system backups/restores and disaster/recovery processing as required.</li><li>Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows/VMWare hardware and software problems on servers, storage and related technologies. Escalate incidents as necessary.</li></ul>

  Qualifications:   <ul>

<li>5+ years IT related experience. </li><li>Bachelor degree preferred but applicants with equivalent experience will be considered</li><li>Significant experience with full life-cycle management of virtual servers with VMWare ESXi.</li><li>Understanding of current network protocols TCP, UDP, VLAN (802.1q), MPLS, and/or LACP and troubleshooting communication issues using them.</li><li>Extensive technical and software application support experience with Windows/VMWare related HW/SW technologies.</li><li>Hand-on experience developing system automation using scripting/programming languages such as to PowerShell, VBscripting, C#, or Visual Studio.</li><li>Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development with a strong understanding of project management principles.</li></ul>
