Projects may be as large as developing a new test, designing systems, traveling to suppliersorserving as a project manager! More about the WeldEngineering Co-op/ Intern at Honda The below descriptions reflectpotentialenvironments and duties within our various Weld Engineering Co-op/ Intern positions that we offer. Work environments and projects may include but are not limited to: Manufacturing - Welding various materials together via various welding processes (Resistance Spot welding as the primary) via structured test developed by Honda associates.
- Destructive analysis of the welded samples (Cross sections and tensile tester use). This includes sample preparation for Macrograph analysis. Data logging and analysis to create lab reports for explanation of results. Material management for testing and general support of other processes in the weld lab, including testing consumables.
- General support on projects as needed.
- Attend meetings, work on project activities, problem analysis, write technical reports, troubleshoot manufacturing or quality problems, and communicate to internal/external customers.
What you need to be successful in this role Required: - General Business Coursework
- Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher (You will be required to provide your current transcript)
- Class status- Sophomore (by credit hour) or above
- Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week
- Enrollment in aBachelor's or Master'sdegree programstudying Welding Engineering or related field.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License (exceptionsconsidered on a case-by-case basis)
- Ability to secure own transportation to and from work each day
- *Public transportation and ride share services are limited in some of our locations. Co-ops are responsible for securing their own transportation to and from work each day, and must have a reliable plan for transportation in order to be eligible for a position.Regular in-person attendance is required, and transportation issues will not be excused.
