In fact, we're the only hospital in northwest Ohio to receive this honor.Position Summary:Under supervision of the provider (physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant), charge nurse, registered nurse, and according to the established policies and procedures, the paramedic performs a variety of technical skills and patient care activities for acute and sub-acute patients as assigned and directed. The paramedic provide patient care under the authority of the Medical Director and reports to the nursing manager/director.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Must have a high school diploma or equivalentSkills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals and follow HIPAA regulationsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organizationBasic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsMust be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skillsMust be able to communicate effectively and have excellent public relations skillsMust be able to maintain composure and utilize tact in stressful situationsCertification:Must be a certified EMT Paramedic (EMT-P) in the State of OhioCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSSPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious EMS dispatch experience preferred2 years ED patient care experience including triage experience preferredNational Registry of EMT's ParamedicATLS, Advanced Trauma Life SupportTNCC, Trauma Nursing Core CurriculumProMedica is a mission-based, not-for-profit integrated healthcare organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
