Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: About Mount Carmel Dublin: At Mount Carmel Dublin, the respiratory therapists deliver high level quality of care through a supporting collaborative effort alongside providers and nurses to assess and treat all patients while upholding the Mount Carmel mission. At Mount Carmel Dublin respiratory therapists provides 24/7 coverage to inpatients, procedural outpatients, and emergency department patients. Respiratory therapists focus on working at a higher skill level by utilizing therapist drive protocols and assisting with access needs in various levels of care to provide skilled expertise input on patient care plans. This position will be hired to staff Mount Carmel Dublin. While construction is underway, the majority of training will take place at Mount Carmel St. Ann's located at 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville, OH 43081. We are expecting Mount Carmel Dublin to open Spring of 2025. Position Purpose: - The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), within the Ohio Scope of Practice, provides therapeutic procedures and diagnostic testing to chronically and acutely ill patients requiring respiratory procedures. What You Will Do:
- Provide Respiratory Care, ensure an environment of patient safety, promote evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibit professionalism in the care of patients and their families.
- Perform duties or responsibilities outside the normal routine care of the patient.
- Initiate and administer therapeutic procedures, diagnostic tests and education in accordance with departmental policy and procedures.
- Record information/patient assessment on the patient's medical record and maintain departmental records.
- Precept new employees as requested and participate in students clinical rotations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
- Communicate pertinent clinical information and collaborate with physicians, house staff and other health care disciplines regarding patient care, treatment and/or plan of care. Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Successful completion of a 2 or 4 year Respiratory Care Program, or completion of additional educational requirements allowing eligibility to obtain registry credentials.
- Licensure / Certification: Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License to practice in the State of Ohio and National Board of Respiratory Care credential indicating RRT or CRT
- Experience: Clinical experience in adult and neonatal respiratory therapy procedures such as aerosolized delivery of medication, mechanical ventilation, assisting with intubations and extubations, pulmonary function studies, emergency care, and obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gases.
