Position Overview:As the Associate Vice President of Transportation - Virginia Lead, the primary focus of this role will be to lead Virginia Transportation efforts for the State, with full control and internal resources support/Executive support for success, recruit other qualified individuals, and pursue new Transportation opportunities in Virginia. Primary Responsibilities: Oversee the work of Design Engineers and Engineering Technicians in the development and design of various types of highway, bridge and traffic projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management, transportation planning, highway safety, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometric layout, MOT, and ADA compliance projects. Develop deliverables and provide quality control for all stages of a project, including preliminary layouts, final plans, reports, specifications, and estimates. Coordinate and work with other design teams and assess the activities and deliverables of the various subconsultants and disciplines associated with the project. Interact and coordinate with clients, team members, and subconsultants to successfully deliver projects. - Serve as a leader to our highway professionals to ensure they have the necessary support in programming, technology and talent to deliver services with the highest quality.
- Develop and mentor the highway engineering skillsets of junior and entry level design engineers.
- Participate in marketing for projects. Identifies potential clients and potential projects/opportunities. Participate in firm meet and greets and interviews.
- Assists in preparation of SOI's, Technical and Price Proposals, response to RFP's, advertisements and solicitations.
- Participate in professional organizations such as ACEC, ASCE, ASHTO and the regional ASHTO affiliates. Minimum Requirements:
