NV5 is currently seeking a Senior Designer for the Land Development and Transportation Groups in our Wilsonville Office. The preferred candidate will have a site development and highway/roadway planning and design background with extensive experience utilizing AutoCAD/Civil3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads for design development and construction plan preparation. Responsibilities - Apply advanced CAD techniques to large scale land development projects, commercial sites and complex transportation design projects utilizing Autocad/Civil 3D and Microstation/Inroads.
- Plan, create, and produce design and construction plan drawings from sketches, existing drawings, electronic images, and written or verbal descriptions.
- Work directly with Department Director and Project Managers to plan and implement project design and production requirements.
- Implement company and client CAD standards and Quality procedures.
- Work closely with project team members, other departments, and sub-consultants to ensure drawings convey complete and correct information.
- Mentor and train others to raise the overall level of CAD expertise in the Group.
- Provide oversight and direction to less experienced staff as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of the principals of design and construction for roadways and related infrastructure.
- Expert skill level with AutoCAD/Civil3D and MicroStation/Inroads.
- Extensive experience and progressive responsibility for construction plan preparation including roadway plan and profiles, cross-sections, mass grading and drainage plans, wet and dry utility plans, storm drain plan, bridge and structure plans, traffic plans, , and other related plans. Must have a great eye for drawing presentation, attention to detail, and consistency.
- Ability to independently plan, schedule, and perform multiple assignments with broad generalized instruction.
- Ability to direct and supervise performance of CAD work to achieve quality and production requirements.
- Demonstrates initiative and acknowledges and accepts responsibility.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Project is a plus.
- Experience with GIS software.
- Availability to occasionally work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Ability to independently communicate and meet with Owners.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates "best practices" techniques and a willingness to learn.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
