The ideal designer is a curious observer, eager participant and a cultural sponge - seeking insights to solve problems. You leverage your outstanding design skills with creative problem solving to create innovative solutions that elevate the experience and key benefits relevant to the athletes and communities we serve.The ideal candidate thrives on team collaboration and building functional working relationships to help bring the teams to successful project completion - from concept to reality.WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONYou'll build innovative footwear designs that advance the product aesthetic and performance for our targeted consumer. You'll follow the execution of all product details including construction, form, color, materials, style, fit, and performance. You'll actively seek authoritative recommendations to develop designs with regard to cost/value requirements, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising, and aesthetic finish.WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHYou'll collaborate with design and management teams on innovative footwear concepts from brief to market. You'll connect with members in design, development, product management, costing, and engineering to ensure feasibility of designs while adhering to product creation timeline. You'll communicate and present design concepts to various internal and external audiences. Encouraging community and leading others are also expectations for this role. This role will have 1 direct report and will report to the Senior Design Director, Mens & Womens ACG Apparel & Footwear Design.TO BE CONSIDERED, YOU MUST SUBMIT A CREATIVE DESIGN PORTFOLIO. • Bachelor's Degree in product design or relevant design degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
• 8 plus years footwear design experience preferred.
• Experience designing and developing innovative outdoor performance footwear preferred.
• Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience.
• Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives.
• Experience in technical footwear design - running design is a plus.
• Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills.
• Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs).
• Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus.
• 3D design programs experience is a plus.
• Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project.
• Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus.
• Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Positive personality and energy.
• Ability and passion to lead, mentor and onboard Design teammates.
• Contribute and align to shared team culture and behaviors.
• Catalyst to make connections with other Design groups.
• Lead + drive partnerships beyond the Design function (Marketing, Engineering, Development, etc.).
