Fieldstone at Chester Springs is seeking an Assistant Activities Assistant who is committed to helping provide an exceptional life for residents in our Compass Memory Care Neighborhood. As a memory care activities assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and oversight of activities, including planning, and coordinating opportunities for residents that promote a level of health, well-being, engagement, and growth. You will model New Directions ---, Vantage Point Retirement Living's exclusive memory care program. New Directions--- focuses on evidence and research-based programming that is backed by an understanding and supportive team. Experience preferred but we are willing to train candidates interested in improving the lives of seniors. General day to day responsibilities will include--- - Assisting in planning, scheduling, and conducting programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
- Assisting, inviting, and encouraging residents to participate in activities.
- Helping plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
- Helping with holiday decorations for the community.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all equipment and supplies are available for activities and special events.
- Planning, coordinating, and facilitating appropriate mixed group activities.
- Maintaining activity areas in an orderly manner.
- Assisting in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs, and craft services.
- Overseeing daily care of any animals and/or plants within the activities program and services.
- Assisting in preparing and organizing a calendar of events. Posting and distributing the calendar.
- Distributing the community newsletter.
- Meeting with new residents to introduce the program.
- Assisting Director in leadership of wellness program.
- Helping manage volunteer staff.
- Addressing resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
- Helping to maintain a database on resident assessments, participation, and satisfaction.

While we support continued learning and enrichment, and celebrate a culture that encourages learning new skills, there are base level requirements for this position that include but are not limited to: - Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years' experience preferred in assisted living, long term care or experience/exposure to the senior population.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, speaking the primary language of the residents.
- Ability to use software to design calendars and signs; use email and the Internet.
