Veterinary Technician - Emergency Nurse Overnight We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Nurses ( Vet Techs ) with at least two years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine to work in our Emergency Department. Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent. The schedules we are hiring for are: -Thursday-saturday 8p-8a - Thursday through Saturday 8pm - 8am (*** ELIGIBLE FOR SIGN-ON BONUS ***) *For those without two years of emergency experience, but with the education required and a passion to advance their skills, inquire about Metropolitan's Talent Management Program* Requirements - - Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients : - Experience in emergency veterinary medicine
- Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
- Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
- Proficient computer skills
- Triage - identify emergencies and illnesses
- Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
- Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
- Administer medications
- Assist in procedures
- Position and capture of radiographs
- Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
