Summary Plans, develops, organizes, implements, supervises, and evaluates a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program as an integral part of the individualized rehabilitation process. Assists patients in attaining and maintaining optimum functioning and a satisfying lifestyle. Job Duties - Updates treatments plans weekly and leads discussions at team conferences.
- Designs goal directed, individualized treatment plans for each patient to assist in the patients rehabilitation process.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of treatments and modifies treatment plans as indicated to obtain goals.
- Collaborates with the Volunteer Department, facilitates and evaluates special programs such as Pet Therapy, Friendly Visitors, or any additional programs that may be beneficial to the residents being serviced.
- Ensures timely changes to the plan of care are documented and communicated to the patient, health care team, and family members as appropriate.
- Develops weekly and monthly calendars that include a variety of activities based on resident interests and suggestions.
- Plans and conducts activities that are relevant to the specific needs, interests, and cultural background of the patients.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree Therapeutic Recreation or related course of study.
- 1 year Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in a healthcare setting and
- 2 years Social program or health care setting
- Problem solving skills.
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certification - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
