DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Childline Caseworker, your primary function will be taking child abuse and neglect reports by phone from mandated and non-mandated reporters. You will direct the reporters to the appropriate investigating agency and process the investigation outcomes. The investigating agencies include county children and youth agencies; regional offices of children, youth, and families; law enforcement; and licensing agencies. Working alongside an amazing team of caseworkers, you will field back-to-back calls for the entire shift due to the high volume of incoming calls. In this role, you must be able to type proficiently while conducting an interview. This will require you to type quickly and accurately as you actively listen, ask clarifying questions, and classify the information provided. Please know that you will be handling child abuse calls which means you will be hearing and discussing disturbing child abuse details, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, and the death of a child.
