Posting Details POSTING INFORMATION Internal Title Assistant Professor of Communication (media & culture) Position Type Tenure-track School/Area School of Humanities and Social Sciences Department Communication Position Description The Department of Communication at the College of Charleston invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in media and culture at the assistant professor level to begin August 2025. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in communication or a related field by August 15, 2025, demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and maintain an active research agenda. We are particularly interested in candidates who specialize in the public and civic significance of communication media. A qualitative or humanities approach is preferred. Undergraduate teaching responsibilities include an introductory media studies survey course and potential upper-level courses on media ethics, media criticism, or media literacy. Graduate teaching in a professionally oriented master's program is a possibility for interested candidates.
