The ARM GROUP is looking for a GDC Supervisor for our growing client located in Greater Charleston Area, SC. #Relocation assistance provided Job Summary: The GDC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Gravity Die Casting (GDC) operations, ensuring the production of high-quality castings while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves managing the GDC team, coordinating production schedules, and liaising with other departments to ensure smooth operations. The GDC Supervisor plays a critical role in continuous improvement efforts and the development of team members. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the GDC department. Ensure production schedules are met and that the output meets the quality standards. Monitor the workflow and adjust as needed to optimize efficiency. Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the GDC team, including Team Leads and operators. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and address any issues. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for team members. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and emergency procedures. Conduct regular safety audits and address any safety concerns promptly. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all GDC castings meet the required quality standards. Oversee quality control processes and conduct regular quality audits. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions. Maintenance and Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance of GDC equipment and machinery. Coordinate with the maintenance team for scheduled and unscheduled repairs. Ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are followed. Coordination and Communication: Liaise with other departments, such as production planning, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations. Communicate any production issues or delays to the Plant Manager/Production Manager. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the GDC processes and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality. Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and quality activities. Prepare and submit regular reports on GDC operations to the Plant Manager/Production Manager. Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager/Production Manager. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in Gravity Die Casting or similar metal casting processes is a must Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing equipment. Proficient in using various hand tools and equipment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Certifications: Certified fork truck operator and crane operator (or ability to become certified). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move 40-80 pounds regularly. Regular kneeling, squatting, and working in otherwise uncomfortable positions. Standing and bending for extended periods. Walking regularly. Work Environment: Experience working in manufacturing plant conditions, including exposure to dirt, fumes, noise, and cleaning chemicals. Other Requirements: Ability to work in a warm environment.
