Key Responsibilities

Provide expert medical opinions and peer reviews for workers' compensation cases
Testify in disputes regarding healthcare services and reimbursement issues
Resolve disagreements between medical examiners and assist judges in determining treatment necessity and return-to-work capabilities


Required Qualifications and Education

Current clear and active Florida Department of Health license
Board certification in a relevant specialty area for occupational health issues
Certification as an Expert Medical Advisor (EMA) valid for two years
Must maintain all qualifications for EMA certification throughout the certification period
